BIRTHDAY WISHES AND CONGRATULATIONS!

Charles Landau – known by many at school as Hostel master has recently turned 95 years old! Happy Birthday to you!

Jess Crewe-Brown – one of the first pupils ever to attend K.H.S. has recently turned 108 years old.



MEANWHILE ON THE SPORTING FRONT
Brad Binder: MOTO GP: has moved from Moto3 to Moto2 this year and is excelling as he races for the KTM team.

Brandon James: HOCKEY: a Recent matriculant of the school is now playing in the Premier Hockey League.

Refilwe Maseko: SOCCER: Another recent matriculant has been selected to play for the under 20 Banyana Banyana team.

Brittany Abdinor: NETBALL: Has been selected as the captain of the under S.A under 21 indoor Netball team.

 

CURRENT AND UPCOMING EVENTS

Pretoria University: There are 114 K.H.S. Matriculants who are currently studying at Tukkies, and our Headmaster, Ivan Bailey, had the honour of being requested to thank the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Tuks, Tawana Kupe, at a recent Principals’ dinner.

 

HIGH TEA: ON 27TH JULY 2019 The Foundation and Grade 11 Fundraisers hosted a Ladies’ High Hats and Tea morning at school – great fun was had by all and the funds will go back into upliftment of the school facilities and the 2019 Matric Farewell.

Thank you to the 1968 matriculants: this group donated a lump sum of cash to us last year for bursaries and have done the same this year – thank you for your support to our Alma Mater!

















The K.H.S. annual Golf day will be held on Friday 11th October 2019 at the Krugersdorp Golf Club, and fourballs can be purchased for R2 400 from Leone’ Pienaar on lpienaar@krugersdorphigh.co.za or 083 3005663.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS

2011 IDOLS WINNER IS ONE OF OUR OWN!
Dave van Vuuren matriculated in 2008. Perhaps the most memorable set of memories would have been of the young superstar on the Matric Lawn or in class playing his guitar and singing. His sheer determination and passion for music showed that he would be bound for stardom. Well done Dave!!! We are all very proud of you!

KHS ACCOUNTING STUDENTS COUNT THEIR WAY TO THE TOP
Chancelle Creswekk and Leon Ohene-Adu participated in the SIAPA National Accounting Olympiad 2011 at the beginning of September. The two learners were awarded the following results at a Gala Event held at the end of the third term: Chancelle placed third on the Westrand and Leon was awarded 1st place. Leon was further announced to have been placed 2nd in South Africa.

CALVIN CALDEIRA: TOP OF THE POPS ON THE GOLF COURSE
Calvin Caldeira, a Grade 11 pupil at Krugersdorp High School, captained the West Rand provincial side that went to the South African inter-provincial tournament held over the September holidays. He carded the best score over the four rounds (-3) and ended up the number one school boy in the country. 8 boys have been selected for the South African U18 school boy team which will be captained by Calvin.
